Marin County Ca. has agreed to pay $1.9 million to settle a lawsuit filed by a 64 yr.old man with a heart condition who was brutally shot with a Taser gun multiple times while sitting on his couch. Sheriff's deputies brutalized him when he declined to go to the hospital after a minor fall. Peter McFarland scuffed his leg in a fall at his Woodacre home. His wife called 911, but when paramedics arrived, McFarland declined an ambulance ride and signed forms declining medical assistance. Sheriff's Deputies Justin Zebb and Erin Mittenthal burst into the home shortly thereafter "without consent and without a warrant," said McFarland's suit, filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco. McFarland was initially hauled to jail for resisting arrest, but the cop's own camera proved they were lying and the case was dismissed. This horrific criminal police act was captured by cameras that are activated when the Taser's safety latch is removed. Both of these brilliant, outstanding peace officers are still on the job collecting their salaries and doing precisely what they were trained to do.
