- Every half hour on the Earth’s surface, there is enough sunlight to provide energy needs for the whole year -

We don’t have an energy problem, we have a  political problem. If we are able to harvest sunlight in a smart way, unopposed by coal, nuclear, and gas interests as well as ignorance and myths then we can prevent a global energy crisis. Following Germany's roll model would be a good choice  for the world at large. The Germans have put in place the mechanical infrastructure and most importantly the political components to facilitate the long term and sustainable use of solar energy. They, through legislation and incentive, have made it profitable which is key to success.
 Fact: A worldwide  network of solar farms with a combined area equivalent to France would supply all of mankind's energy needs forever.
