FROM THE TWISTED MINDS AT DEPT. HOMELAND SECURITY  COME FISH AND INSECT DRONES
- The U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) using DHS money is funding (with your taxes) the research to create a whole new generation of stealth surveillance robots for the battlefield and as they describe 'urban environments'  (THAT MEANS YOU) -
The "BIOSwimmer" robot fish features faithfully replicated fins and a flexible tail to pull off quick maneuvers like a real-life fish. Homeland Security made the choice to fund the robot made by the Boston Engineering Corporation in Waltham, Mass., with an eye toward missions such as patrolling U.S. beaches to watch out for suspicious activity. David Taylor, program manager for the project at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security told Fox News: 'It's all about distilling the science. It's called 'biomimetics. 'We're using nature as a basis for design and engineering a system that works exceedingly well, 'Tuna have had millions of years to develop their ability to move in the water with astounding efficiency. Hopefully we won't take that long." Perfect for spying on people at the beach. It can be controlled by an operator using a laptop computer but is also being designed to function autonomously. Researchers at Harvard University are also perfecting their incredible  robot fly  which weighs just 60 milligrams and has a wingspan of three centimeters. This tiny robot's movements are modeled on those of a real fly. Engineers at Boeing aviation this year demonstrated new technology that enables aerial military drones to function like a 'swarm of insects' where they can communicate and carry out tasks in mid-air. Armed with cameras these tiny spy drones will be perfect for waging the surveillance war on American citizens. In the future they could even be equipped with lethal doses of cyanide to be used against enemies of the state.
