Hillary Announces al-Qaeda Rebels As Legitimate Government Of Libya
On Friday, the U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and members of more than 30 other nations meet in Istanbul, Turkey, and announced they have granted al-Qaeda and the so-called rebels in Libya full diplomatic recognition. “I am announcing today that, until an interim authority is in place, the United States will recognize the TNC as the legitimate governing authority for Libya,’’ said Clinton. The TNC, or Transitional National Council, is dominated by the the Haribi tribe of northeastern Libya. Both Abdel Mustafa Jalil and Abdel Fatah Younis – routinely paraded around by the corporate media as Libya’s new leaders – are from the Haribi tribe. A 2007 West Point study concluded that the  Haribi tribe is rife with al-Qaeda and actively killed U.S. troops in Iraq.

Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said al-Qaeda jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime.  Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against 'the foreign invasion' (the US) in Afghanistan.
 Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against "the foreign invasion"  before being "captured in 2002 . He was later handed over to the US, and then held in Libya before being released in 2008.  In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited al-Qaeda rebels from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are "today are on the front lines in Libya". Earlier this month, al-Qaeda issued a call for supporters to back the Libyan rebellion, which it said would lead to the imposition of "the stage of Islam" in the country.
