 Poll: Vast Majority Of Americans Tell Obama to Take His Internet ID Plan and "Shove It Where The Sun Don't Shine"
The Obama administration has proposed Americans obtain a single ID for all Internet sales and banking activity. But a new Rasmussen Reports poll finds most Americans want nothing to do with such an ID if the government is the one to issue it and hold the information. Only eight percent (8%) of Americans would be willing to submit their personal financial and purchasing information to the government or a government contractor to receive a secure government credential for online transactions. Seventy-six percent (76%) would not be willing to submit this information for that purpose. The survey of 1,000 Adults was conducted on April 18-19, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports.
